Statements and resolutions

The IADL bureau meeting in London adopted the following resolution on climate change and the Copenhagen agenda

IADL condemns killings, calls for an end of support to Arroyo governement and to send mission to Philippines

IADL joined an appeal to UN secretary general Ban Ki Moon demanding that he and the United Nations uphold their responsibilities to protect the rights of Palestinian prisoners and secure their freedom.

The International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL)  condemns the military coup against the democratically elected Government of President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras.

IADL denounces the invasion of Gaza by Israel and condemns the violation by Israel of the Security Council resolution.

IADL calls upon the General Assembly to act pursuant to Resolution 377 to pass a uniting for peace resolution. IADL further calls on the General Assembly to create a special tribunal  to investigate and punish Israeli war crimes.

IADL calls on the international community to stop further Israeli aggression, and take action to hold Israel accountable for its crimes.

The IADL bureau condemned in its meeting in Paris  the continuing attacks against lawyers and judges in the Philippines and urges the Philippine Government to immediately take effective measures to stop the killings and disappearances.
